TECHROAD TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE

HIRE RATES

HIRE RATES: Rates are based on the hire of signs during any 24-hour period.  The customer will be liable for payment of the full hire charge for any hire that extends into the subsequent 24-hour period.

 PRICE CHANGES: We reserve the right to change hire rates at any time. Rates for existing hire contracts will not change without notification to the hirer.

 GOVERNMENT CHARGES: We reserve the right to pass on to the hirer any government taxes, duties or charges that become applicable during the term of this agreement.

 DELIVERY AND PICKUP COSTS: Delivery and Pickup costs are charged to client’s accounts as advised in our hire quote.

 OFF HIRING EQUIPMENT: Notify TechRoad that you the Hirer have finished with the equipment and it is ready for collection. The hirer must ring the 1800 650750.  If this is not undertaken the sign is deemed to remain on hire.  The “Off Hire” phone contact numbers are also detailed at the foot of the Hire Order form.

PERMITS AND REQUIREMENTS: The hirer shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits that may be required in connection with the placement of signs. Permits may be required from local government bodies, road authorities etc and if, during the period of hire we are asked to remove a sign by any authority, we will comply immediately, and any costs incurred will be at the hirer’s expense. Any fines or charges relating to the hire of a sign will also be at the hirer’s expense.

PAYMENT CONDITIONS

HIRE CHARGES:  

Charges are levied from the time the sign has been provided to the hirer as instructed until the time we are notified that the sign is “Off Hire”.  Hire charges are levied for the time out on hire, not the time the sign is utilised by the client.

 PAYMENT TERMS: Payment is usually required before delivery for COD hires, and 30 days from date of invoice for account customers. This can be paid by EFT, Cheque, or Credit Card (a 2% surcharge will apply). TechRoad reserves the right to charge interest under the Penalty Interest Act for overdue amounts, and to pass on any costs in collecting outstanding debts

NEW ACCOUNT PAYMENT TERMS: Trading terms for the initial first three orders must be COD this can be paid by the following Cheque sent five days prior to hire or EFT, Cash or Credit Card (a 2% surcharge will apply)

HIRER RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES: The hirer is responsible to guard the signs against theft, damage, negligence or third party property damage and will be liable for any costs incurred until it has been returned to the owner. (This should be covered by your own insurance, check with your insurance company) The original hirer will be deemed responsible if equipment is then sub-hired to a third party. Any damage or loss must be reported by telephoning our Toll free number and sending a written report by Fax or email of damage or loss with photos if applicable to head office in Melbourne.

 DAMAGE WAIVER: Damage Waiver cover is payable at the rate of 10% of the total hire fee.  It covers damage to a sign up to the value of $2000. Any damage above this amount is the responsibility of the hirer, and will be invoiced and paid within 30 days. Theft and total loss of the sign shall be the sole responsibility of the hirer (Refer to Total Loss Cover below). Damage Waiver is optional. If not taken, the hirer will be charged for any damage/loss sustained during the hire.

 DAMAGE WAIVER IS NOT APPLICABLE: No Damage Waiver is offered with Arrow Boards or any hire under $50.00 per day. If any of the following is damaged or lost the Hirer is bound to pay the cost of a Winch handle, Draw bar, Jockey wheel, Padlocks, Trailer leads or plugs, Legs, Thief of batteries or solar panels or damage to the trailer.

TOTAL LOSS / MAJOR DAMAGE COVER (WHEN OFFERED): Payable at a rate of $20 per day plus GST, this option (when offered) covers the total loss/damage to the sign less a $2000 excess. This option includes the Damage Waiver detailed above. The first $2000 damage is covered under Damage Waiver; the next $2000 is the excess payable under the Total Loss/Damage Cover. Any Costs above this are covered by this option. This option is not available when a customer picks up a sign. 

 NON ELECTION OF COVER: In cases where the hirer elects not to take the option of the 10% Damage Waiver Insurance or Total Loss/Damage Cover, the hirer shall be responsible for the payment of all costs incurred in relation to damage sustained.
